Ethan Mercier

Undergraduate Student

Ethan Mercier (Fall 2022-current) graduated from Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire in 2020. He decided to pursue a degree in Chemistry at the University of Connecticut Storrs, and is also on the pre-medical track. Ethan has enjoyed the field of chemistry since his first chemistry class in high school, and developed a passion for organic chemistry his sophomore year at UConn. Ethan believes an important responsibility of chemists is minimizing environmental impact, which spurred his interest in Dr. Leadbeater’s green chemistry research lab. When he is not in class, the lab, or embarking on pre-medical endeavors, Ethan enjoys flying RC planes, mountain biking, playing video games, and longboarding around campus.
